One bright and sunny bushland day,
Mumma Dingo was on her way.
With boots laced tight and snacks to spare,
She marched off breathing mountain air.
She met a hiker named Humphrey Blue,
With quiet strength and kind eyes too.
“Three peaks today!” she gave a cheer.
Humphrey just smiled: “I’ll follow, dear.”
At first, the hike was full of grace—
Cool breeze, tall trees, a lovely pace.
Some cows looked up and gave a “moo!”
Like, “What on earth are they up to?”
But soon the trail went steep and wild,
No path in sight, no terrain mild.
They scrambled up on hands and knees,
Through thorns, and webs, and stinging trees!
Her water gone, her snacks all munched,
Her tummy grumbled, twisted, crunched.
She looked at Humphrey’s bulging pack…
“Mind if I borrow a little snack?”
Then—SPLAT!—a spider hit her face!
She spun around, fell out of place.
“IT TOUCHED ME!” screamed our trail bound star,
As Humphrey whispered, “There you are…”
They crawled and climbed with aching knees,
Got smacked by webs and scraped by trees.
Her arms went numb, her pants felt tight…
Something back there… didn’t feel right.
At Mount Philp’s base, she lost the plot.
“I’M DYING HERE! THIS CLIMB’S TOO HOT!”
She sobbed and wailed, “Just leave me be!”
Even a snake crawled off to flee.
“I need a chopper! Here’s my phone!
Tell my husband I’ve died alone! ”
Humphrey stood calm, then gave a grin,
And said, “We’re halfway. Let’s begin.”
He took her bag. She took the lead.
With shaky limbs and spider-speed.
Then RRRIIIPP! — her pants gave one last shout.
And Mumma’s bum? Was halfway out.
But Humphrey didn’t laugh or speak.
He hiked behind her all that peak.
She reached the top with gasps and wheeze,
And whispered, “Next time… flatter trees.”
They made it down, through bush and bog.
She hugged her friend. He high-fived a log.
And just one week from mountain drama…
They hiked again — with less trauma!
Now here’s what Mumma Dingo knows:
✔️ Bring spare pants wherever you goes.
✔️ A friend like Humphrey is gold, not glue.
✔️ Always pack snacks — maybe pack two!
✔️ And if a meltdown finds your face…
You still might finish. Pants or no lace.
